Come visit Katholiko bay and breathtaking Seitan Limani beach, on this private boat trip around Crete.
The Chania Old Harbour, near the Sailing Club, is where we will meet for the 6-hour boat cruise. We sail east, circumnavigating the Akrotiri peninsula. We start with Katholiko Bay and its monastery, followed by the old famous pirate bay Seitan Limani.
Katholiko beach is a small private beach located north of Chania in the Akrotiri area. The beach was used by the Katholiko Monastery as a port where the monks could dock and repair their boats. Pirates frequently used the beach to attack the monastery, which had to be abandoned in the 16th century.
You must first visit the Gouverneto Monastery, followed by a 30-minute walk to the abandoned monastery of Katholiko. After crossing the Avlaki gorge by going down and under the bridge, you will arrive at one of the most charming beaches you will ever see in 20 minutes.
There is no sand, only rocks, but the waters are breathtaking. The beach is surrounded by high rocks, so cliff diving will be a blast! There are no trees, so there is little shade, but there is a small cave on the mountain.
Seitan Limani is a remote beach in the northeastern Akrotiri Peninsula, close to the magnificent city of Chania. In fact, it is not a typical beach; it is a narrow canal wedged between high sea cliffs, with white sands and pebbles and, of course, transparent vivid blue waters. Doesn't that sound like paradise?
Dive off the Spectacular natural rocky cliffs into the clear turquoise water, and then relax on the white and black pebble beach to feel the sun on your skin. We'll continue our tour until we reach Marathi Beach. We'll stop at Macherida beach and a hidden cave on our way back to Chania.
Marathi is located in the Bay of Souda, southeast of the Akrotiti peninsula. It has two beautiful sandy beaches, a clear and calm sea, and is located in a spectacular setting.
We will safely return to Chania Port after an exciting day.
