Northern Finland's stunning Korouoma Canyon is famed for its dramatic cliffs, unique rock formations, and breathtaking frozen waterfalls. Measuring a total of 30 kilometres (18 miles), Korouoma Canyon's deepest section measures an impressive 130 metres (426 feet). This comprehensive session, ice climbing in Korouoma Canyon, offers hotel transfers to and from Rovaniemi, Pyhä, or Luosto (please specify when booking). Whatever option you choose, you and your group (a maximum of 8 people) be picked up at your accommodations and embark upon a scenic drive to Korouoma Canyon. Once you've arrived, you'll receive your ice climbing equipment, which includes a helmet, a harness, crampons, ice axes, and footwear. Then, you'll depart for the 1-1.5-hour hike in Finland's winter wonderland, an ancient taiga forest, to the climbing location at the frozen waterfalls. Don't forget your camera!

After a snack break, the fun starts! You'll put on your equipment and receive a safety and itinerary briefing, followed by an introduction to ice climbing, ice climbing equipment, and ice climbing techniques. With your equipment double-checked, you'll begin ice climbing in Korouoma Canyon. Your instructor will belay you as you climb the natural ice wall with heights varying from 20-60 metres (65-196 feet)! Each climber will have the chance to do 2 proper climbs during the session.

On the hike back to the vehicle and if time permits, you'll stop for a well-earned snack around a cracking bonfire before departing for Rovaniemi, Pyhä, or Luosto, the perfect way to end an amazing day, ice climbing in Korouoma Canyon!
