The snowshoeing itinerary starts at the Foyer de Ski de Fond du plateau des Glières in Haute-Savoie, near Annecy.
You will walk through the forest to the Pas du Loup (1780m). There you will find a magnificent panorama of the Chaîne des Avrais and the Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps!
The snowshoeing trail continues to the Montagne des Auges plateau, a long mountain surrounded by the Glières plateau, the Borne valley, Mont Lachat and the Pointes des Ovenettes and Puvat.
You will enjoy a picnic near the snow-covered chalets of Les Auges.
On the way back, the same path will be taken, you will however pass in front of the national monument to the Resistance of the Plateau des Glières.
This is a 9km hike, with a maximum altitude of 1822m and a difference in altitude of 500m!

Practical information
- Meeting point at 10:30 am at the Foyer de Ski de Fond du Plateau des Glières, car park
- Departure for a 3h30 walk
- Start of the itinerary in the forest
- Leave the forest at 1780m to reach the Pas du Loup
- Continuation of the route towards the Montagne des Auges plateau
- Picnic towards the snowy Chalets des Auges
- Return by the same route, passing in front of the national monument to the Resistance
- End of the hike around 3.15 pm at the Plateau des Glières
- No physical condition is required for this activity, you just need to be at least 6 years old.
- Hiking level: WT2 Hiking (max. 25 degrees of slope, steep slope nearby).
