Isère valley spreads its hilly and green landscapes to the north-west of the Vercors massif. Many streams run down the slopes through waterfalls and gorges. The Drevenne river has dug the spectacular canyon of Ecouges.
The lower part of the Ecouges canyon, also called Ecouges II, is a classic descent in Isère. It is a sporty route due to its duration (3.5 to 4 hours) and the large number of waterfalls. It's also very aquatic because you start the descent by an uninterrupted succession of jumps and slides. You will also abseil down a waterfall sheltered in a cave. The final offers a jump of 9 meters which is not mandatory and will please the more adventurous of you.
The descent begins with an approach walk of approx. 10 min and 2 abseils of 15 and 27 meters. Then you arrive at a gorge where you chained many jumps and slides in beautiful waterfalls.
You continue with 2 impressive waterfalls that you cross with a rope. What follows is a nice narrow part which opens after the last abseil.
