Advanced Open Water Diving Course in Amorgos

Take part in a scuba diving course to obtain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification in Amorgos. This course is for Open Water certified divers, from ages 10 and up!

Greece, with its crystal-clear waters and warm temperatures, is one of the best places in the world for scuba diving! This dive centre is based in Amorgos, a beautiful Greek island located in the eastern part of the Aegean Sea. Part of the Cyclades island group, Amorgos is known for its stunning natural landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and charming traditional villages.

For your course, you'll start by meeting the certified instructor at the dive centre in Amorgos. You must have at least an Open Water Diver certification or equivalent to participate. The program generally takes 3 days to complete and aims to introduce you to 5 different SSI scuba diving specialities of your choice. Before beginning the course, you'll choose the 5 speciality experiences from the list: boat diving, deep diving, enriched air nitrox diving, navigation, night & limited visibility diving, perfect buoyancy, underwater photo & video, scooter – DPV diving, search & recovery, waves, tides & currents, or wreck diving.

You'll start with theory at the centre, using the online e-learning tool accessed through the SSI website or app. After reading through the materials relating to your chosen speciality, it's time to put the skills to the test! The guide will provide all of the scuba diving equipment (mask, snorkels, fins, buoyancy compensating jacket, tank, regulator and weights). Depending on your speciality, you may also use a scooter, dive lights, lift bags or underwater cameras!

Over the 3 days, you will have open water adventure dives, at fascinating dive sites around Amorgos. Scuba diving in Amorgos is a fantastic experience due to its crystal-clear waters, underwater caves, and diverse marine life. On your dives, you'll learn the required skills while also discovering the unique underwater world!

On your adventure, you may see underwater walls, caves or coves, ancient shipwrecks, and interesting reefs home to vibrant marine life, including octopuses, sea turtles, and various fish species. You'll dive to a maximum depth of 18-30 meters / 60-100 feet. On the last day, you will have an exam dive with the instructor to showcase your skills. After successfully completing the exam, you will obtain your Advanced Open Water Diver certificate. This certificate allows you to dive to depths of up to 30 metres all over the world!
