Amorgos is a beautiful Greek island located in the eastern Aegean Sea. The island is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and picturesque landscapes. This is an ideal location to learn how to scuba dive!

This course begins at the dive centre in Amorgos, where you'll meet the certified instructor. The course takes place over 3-4 days and consists of theory, practice in shallow waters, and open water dives. The dives will take place in a practice pool and at dive sites around the island.

You'll start by studying the theory to understand the basic principles of scuba diving. Using online learning materials from the SSI, you'll discover everything there is to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. Then, you'll receive the scuba diving equipment and learn about its use (mask, snorkels, fins, buoyancy compensating jacket, tank, regulator and weights).

The next part of the course involves learning how to use the scuba diving equipment and breathe underwater in a practice pool. Once you feel comfortable, you'll travel to one of the dive sites in Amorgos and learn how to dive in open water. The dive spots are specifically chosen for beginner divers. You may visit sandy beaches, underwater caves or caverns.

You'll dive from the shore and discover the amazing world beneath the surface! At the dive sites, you'll find unique underwater rock formations, colourful walls, secluded coves, and of course, various vibrant marine life. This area is home to sea creatures such as octopuses, sea turtles, cuttlefish, starfish and other colourful fish. At the end of the course, you'll obtain your Open Water certificate, which allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18m / 59ft anywhere in the world!
