Once you arrive, your guide will provide you with crampons, a helmet, and some important safety instructions. You will walk over black volcanic ash to the edge of the glacier then begin to make your way up as you set foot on the ice. The Sólheimajökull glacier is an outlet of the Mýrdalsjökull, with unique rugged territory. Below its glacier tongue lies a fast-growing lagoon that has doubled in size over the last years. Once its time to head back down your guide will lead you through a different route for more varied scenery.

The fun does not stop here! On your way back to Reykjavik you will stop at two of the most magnificent waterfalls in Iceland, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss.
