Activity
Meet your guides at your meeting point in Dublin before driving up towards Meath and Louth counties. The first stop on the tour is FourKnocks, an ancient passage chamber tomb built over 5000 years ago. Here you’ll be able to pass into the tomb and see early stone inscriptions from some of Ireland's earliest settlers. Then it’s onto the Hill of Tara, with the Ancient Seat of the High Kings containing a number of historic monuments. The trip then goes on to The Hill of Slane, Slane castle and onto Trim Castle, where scenes from the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Brave Heart’ were filmed in the 1990s. The last two locations on the tour are New Grange and the Monasterboice Monastery with its wonderful high crosses, founded by Saint Buite in 500 A.D!
