Rafting is one of the most adrenaline-pumping adventure sports available, where you can share fun, excitement, and laughter with your companions. Along the route, you will go down the Genil River, which is the second largest river in Andalusia. It rises in the Sierra Nevada in Granada and flows into the Guadalquivir in Cordoba. You will follow its current in a pneumatic raft with a capacity for 8 people. The speed of the boat, as well as the different waves, rapids, contras, and overtows, make rafting a very exciting way to spend a few hours. But don't worry because a guide will accompany you at all times in the boat, directing your movements, and ensuring that this rafting expedition on the Genil River is fun but also as safe as possible.
You will meet the team of Ocio Aventuras Cerro Gordo for your rafting activity on the river Genil in Cuevas Bajas, 1 hour away from Malaga. At the beginning of the activity, the guide will give you some basic notions about rafting and the best way to face possible difficulties on the river.
The river offers the possibility of two levels of rafting:
- Cuevas Bajas Canal: I - II. Ideal for families, children from 6 years old and up are allowed to participate, and you'll enjoy a more relaxed, but still very fun experience.
- Canal de Benamejí to Palenciana: class II - III rapids. The minimum age for this descent is 14 years old, it is a more challenging course that will fill you up with adrenaline and make you work with your team to surpass it. Children over 7 years old to 14 years old can do just a part of the route until the “Arabian water mill”, where they will be collected by the instructors.
