True Adventure

True Adventure Paragliding was founded in 2014 by two experienced paragliding pilots in Iceland. They selected the southernmost point in Iceland, Vík í Mýrdal, as the ideal flying location due to its natural beauty and proximity to the ring road. Sammi and Þráinn, the founders, are passionate about flying and aim to provide their customers with the same thrill they experience while up in the air. The True Adventure Paragliding team is dedicated to making South Iceland the top paragliding destination in the Northern Hemisphere, thanks to the region's great mountains, hills, and favourable winds.

The safety of their customers is the top priority for the True Adventure team, and they ensure that each customer has a fun and memorable experience while gliding over the stunning backdrop of cliffs, black sand beaches, green valleys, hills, and volcanic rocks that make up the breathtaking scenery of the south of Iceland.

Our pilots

Sammi, a paragliding pilot since 2009, spends summers flying in Iceland and winters in South Africa. He is skilled in aerobatic manoeuvres and can provide customers with an exhilarating experience while ensuring their safety. Þráinn, an experienced instructor paragliding pilot, has been flying since 2013 and is passionate about sharing his love of free flight with others. He can put customers at ease and is beloved by all, including his Icelandic sheepdog, Skuggi, who occasionally joins him for a ride up the mountain.
