Excursion en 4x4 au départ de Ponta Delgada à São Miguel, Açores

The Nordeste (North East) is one of the less well known destinations. However, amongst those in the know it is considered one of the most beautiful areas of the island. On route to the Nordeste you'll see the best of the region, with views and trails between mountains of extraordinary beauty. The viewpoints over this spectacular scenery are cherished as if they were the royal gardens and are a treat to visit.

The tour will take in a number of places along the north coast of the island including Ribeira Grande and Porto Formoso, among others. Arriving in the Nordeste there will be a stop for lunch then the jeeps will climb to one of the highest peaks on the island - the Pico Bartolomeu – from where you can see the highest mountain on the island: the Pico da Vara, and fully appreciate the breathtaking beauty of nature.

You'll then drive on along the famous Tronqueira mountain trail to the village of Povoção. On your return to Ponta Delgada you'll head to the south coast so you get a taste of the beauties of this coast too. The Nordeste tour takes you to the oldest part of the island to discover a different landscape bursting with all the exuberance of unspoilt nature and memorable sights.
