Come visit, Balos beach, Gramvousa Island, Menies Beach, Thodorou Island, and Secret beaches, on this private boat trip around beautiful Crete.
This 7-hour boat trip begins at Chania's old port, near the Antigonis restaurant. The first stop is the famous beach of Balos, where we can take in the breathtaking view of the sea and the Cretan "table" mountains.
Balos Beach is simply one of Crete's most beautiful beaches. A large double cove is available to you here. On one side, there is a fine sandy beach and the calm sea of the Kissamos Gulf. On the other hand, what makes Balos Beach famous, there is its large lagoon with shallow water.
Swimming is permitted at this location. The lagoon has no waves, the water is crystal clear, and the small fish flock here to enjoy the peace and quiet of Balos Beach.
The following stop will be then visiting Gramvousa Island. Gramvousa is well-known for its historical Venetian fortress, which still stands 137 meters above the beach. The fort was built on a rock in 1579 by the Venetians to protect their ships from the attack of Ottoman Corsairs. The fort was also used by pirates, and legend has it that a large treasure is buried on the island. In addition, an old wreck that was abandoned near the beach many years ago has become a distinguishing feature of the landscape. There are two large bays on the south side of the island, with the wreck located between them.
Then we sail to Menies Beach, which is famous for its turquoise waters and ancient ruins, and anchor for a while.
The friendly captain will take us to some hidden private beaches and caves near Menies that are ideal for snorkeling and freediving. Finally, we travel to the unspoiled island of Thodorou in search of the rare Cretan wild "kri kri" and a sunken German plane wreck from WWII.
Before sunset, our friendly skipper will take us back to Chania.
