Located in northern Finland, Saariselkä is situated north of the Arctic Circle. As such, it is known for its picturesque landscapes, diverse wildlife, and numerous outdoor activities. One of which is ice-fishing, which is popular with locals and tourists alike. The perfect way to enjoy time in Finland's spectacular winter wonderland!
Whether you choose a pick-up from one of the listed locations or meet onsite (please specify when booking), you will be greeted by your experienced guide at the Safartica office. Once you've put on your winter gear, including thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, a hat, a scarf, and gloves, you'll enjoy a scenic drive to the ice-fishing location. Then, the adventure begins!
You and your group (a maximum of 30 participants) will receive a safety briefing along with an introduction to ice-fishing and ice-fishing techniques. With the help of your guide, you will drill a hole in the frozen ice. Casting your line into the icy waters, you may be lucky enough to catch Arctic char, trout, perch, grayling, etc. You'll relax in the tranquillity of the Finnish wilderness and be treated to a hot drink. At the end of the experience, you'll return to the original departure point with memories that will last a lifetime!
