Hop on a boat from Adamas in Milos and explore the West Coast, visiting the well-known Kleftiko and Sykia Cave while admiring spectacular sceneries!
Milos is a beautiful island located in the Aegean Sea, part of the Cyclades group in Greece. It is known for its stunning beaches and unique geological formations, including colourful volcanic rocks and mineral-rich hot springs. This trip will bring you to some of the highlights of this picturesque Greek island!
The boat tour begins in Adamas, the main port town in Milos. You can choose from a morning or afternoon (sunset) tour. You'll be greeted on board the comfortable speed boat by the experienced skipper. After a quick safety and itinerary briefing, the adventure begins! The skipper will set sail from Adamas, heading along the west coast of Milos.
As you cruise through the Gulf of Milos, the guide will share interesting facts about the rich history of Milos. The first stop on the tour is Kleftiko Bay, a complex of volcanic rocks formed about 3 million years ago during the emergence of Milos from the Aegean Sea. This natural wonder is renowned for its dramatic coastal rock formations, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and hidden sea caves. The white volcanic rocks and caves served as a pirate hide-out during Medieval times!
You'll have a break at Kleftiko to swim in the azure waters and admire the breathtaking surroundings. The guide will also provide snorkelling equipment so you can explore the underwater landscape of this area. After your swim, seasonal fruit platters, traditional Milos snacks, and cold refreshments will be served. Then, you'll sail to Sykia Cave, an impressive natural monument.
Sykia Cave is renowned for its unique geological formations and its strikingly blue waters. The collapsed ceiling of the cave has created an open round view of the blue sky, allowing the sunlight to shine in and illuminate the interior with beautiful colours. You'll have some more time to swim or snorkel in these magical waters, exploring the small cave and its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The guide will also capture some memorable underwater photos of you!
Then, the tour continues to Kalogries Bay, a beautiful secluded beach tucked away on the island's southeastern coast, known for its scenic surroundings, with greenish rocks and almost transparent shallow waters. You'll enjoy a final swim in this unique setting, before beginning the return journey to Adamas. As you sail back along the Gulf of Milos, you'll pass the impressive Cape Vani, a remote manganese mine where abandoned shipwrecks can be found at a depth of 50 metres (164 feet).
You'll also have panoramic views of Klima, a picturesque fishermen's village with spectacular rock formations and traditional Cycladic architecture. You can also capture some photos of Arkoudes, a distinctive geological formation with rocks that resemble bears lying down. If you choose the sunset tour, you'll be treated to the mesmerising view of the sun slowly setting on the horizon! The trip will end back at the port in Adamas.
