Hiking Excursion in Mount Olympus - Papa Stream

Starting from Vrontou, this 5.5-hour circular route of 13.5km will take you to the most isolated and intact spots of the tallest mountain in Greece. Impressive and wild nature, dream-like paths, small streams and much more await you once you start walking this mountain which was home to the twelve Greek gods.

Location
Nature is everywhere: from bushes to pines and fir, as well as wildflowers, more than 1.700 plants are found on Mount Olympus, representing 25% of all Greek flora. What about the fauna? Deer, foxes, wolves, jackals and wild cats are all reputed to live in Olympus National Park, the first national park in Greece.

What to expect
Starting from Vrontou at your arranged meeting time, you will move to the northern side of the magical mountain, admiring the flora along the way. You will continue towards a cute, picturesque chapel, moving upwards for 3.5km until you arrive at Krevatia shelter at 1000m. From there you will go on to Papa stream, admiring the beautiful scenery. Finally, return to the starting point.
