Murcia: What to do when you get there?
Murcia, 7th biggest Spanish city, is located in the region of the same name in southeastern Spain, between Alicante in the north and Cartagena in the south, and only 35 km from the Mediterranean Sea.
Founded in 831 in the valley of the Segura river, Murcia was a historical town with a long muslim presence where there are still some remains. Christians also left traces of their presence by building baroque churches, temples and the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary.
Murcia and its region offer a plethora of outdoor sports and activities. On the land, on the water or in the air, go for what suits you the most!
If you want to fully enjoy nature, try out hiking or biking on the numerous tracks that cross the region. If you seek more adventure, you can practice climbing on the uplands surrounding Murcia, like in Sierra Espuña or Sierra de la Pila.
